Subject: problem with filesystem mount during boot

SHORT VERSION:
I installed FreeBSD 2.2.8 on a single HD, after a DOS partition.
During boot, I receive the error

/dev/wd0s2a on /: specified device does not match mounted device
Filesystem mount failed, startup aborted

LONG VERSION:
I can then hit Enter to startup /bin/sh in the root directory.
I can also then manually mount /usr (on /dev/wd0s2e), but not /.
If I try to mount / it tells me that fsck needs to be run. When
I run fsck it says the clean flags of /dev/wd0s2a and /dev/wd0s2e
need to be set. I set them, but even after rebooting this
whole process is repeated and the clean flags always come up
needing to be set.

Thanks for any suggestions,
Matt Englehart
