FWIW, I was talking to a PC hardware dealer recently and he now reluctantly uses WD drives as they use "EIDE" which is a hybrid of the ATA protocol and apparently don't work with some MB's and others such as Seagate/Maxtor make drives that do ATA rather than "EIDE". I'm not sure exactly what EIDE is in relation to each...
