I searched for the answer to this, but couldn't find any information. I'm writing a program that uses shared memory (via shm_*) to communicate between two processes, each multithreaded. I need some way to synchronize the two processes, and while other methods are available (pipe, etc), I'd like to use pthreads mutexes, as it makes my coding much easier. I read that this is supported in Solaris, but not in Linux, but couldn't find any information on FreeBSD. I this legal? Thanks -- Matthew L.
