As a result of the discussion, definitions of them are:
machine_arch: cpu type (i.e., i386, alpha, powerpc etc.)
machine: subtype of machine_arch (i.e., i386 and pc98)
As far as I remember, the definition of machine/machine_arch was
imported from NetBSD.
