Make sure you get version 0.4 from the -current ports collection.
Support for moused has been added, making it a truly drivable CUI (and
once I figured out that moused "canonicalizes" your mouse to a
MouseSystems type mouse, of all the bizarre choices, I was able to use
it harmoniously with my X server :-).
