I believe you shouldn't include hptmv driver release in the amd 64
version as it was not actually included, or at least in the version I
downloaded installed.
I could not kldload the device nor statically compile it in. 
The FreeBSD 5.3 release of the driver for amd64 does work in 5.4 however.
