Thank you,-PC Totfinn's rules for techno-standards: 1) any new techonological standard will be included in an Open Source project if: a) there is documentation (freely) available b) there is enough interest (ie. widespread use or advantages which isn't in existing standards) c) there are enough developer resources available (one dedicated developer who makes this work a priority is enough for some projects) e) enough time passes If any of the points above fails, the standard will not be included in the Open Source project.
