You can edit it. No, I was referring to what ever runs the rc script. Is that init? I have always installed MySQL from ports without any > problems. Originally, I was in a hurry and was having trouble with ports. This approach had worked for three machines. But one I was having endless problems with. Meanwhile I got it together to get ports to work.
