[-- Attachment #1 --] Ok, I tried kldload snd_mss. Got error messages about it not being registered Tried adding "device pcm" from notes in man pcm pages. Tried adding "device pcm0 at isa? port? irq 5 drq 1 flags 0x15". Still errors. I did see the csa0: CS4610/4611 at device 6 problem. Now, I'm trying to run Waveplay with one of my wav files and it gives me the wav file stats and then says "OpenDSP: Device not configured". KDE v2.2 mentions /dev/dsp not configured when it starts aRTS. Seems related in issue. I've read most of the info from many sites trying to crack this one. Now the account I was using was the root account. Someone mentioned he had to be in a user account to get his sound working in FreeBSD. Hope the dmesg helps.
