[-- Attachment #1 --] Hi there, I have installed freebsd and I want to connect to the network. I ran \stand\sysinstall\ and chose the network configuration option. I got a few options pointing to com ports, a parallel port and an unknown NIC( this one also had faith0 in front of it) I went for this one as I have a SMC nic. Is it supposed to say SMC instead of unknown nic? I did configure my SMC card when I installed freebsd. I get two options IPv6 or dhcp. The network is using DHCP. When I choose DHCP I get a message that the address protocol is not supported. After a while I get some options there but I am not sure what to do. Can someone help me? My computername is fnh-unix1. The domainname is Massey. What do I do with the other configurations? Do you still need to enter the subnetmask etc?
