Make sure /dev/pass6 exists, and that you have write permissions on it. For the HP drive itself you will find a couple of quarks. It doesn't recognize the usual SCSI commands to change audio tracks, and it doesn't report back the info needed for time-related functions (e.g. time remaining for the track/disk), so it's pretty useless with things like xmcd.
