Not to start another debate on what ports *should* support (check the archives, as it has been hashed over again and again), but sticking with only current (5.0) and stable (4.x) makes life easier on the port maintainers. Thus with 8.2.3 in the base for these branches there will not be a port. Unless you can convince them to. ;) Besides, it has been pointed out that it builds easily out-of-the-box.
