one pointmaxtordo make a point saying is that their drives are scsi3 compliant and don't work with scsi2 commands well.. http://maxtor.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/maxtor.cfg/php/enduser/olh_adp.php?p_faqid=4 but they finaly gave a firmware update for the drive... just no explanation how too use it..also havn't tested yet as no information plus a browse around the ftp site pointed to them giving me the incorrect path as my drives are atlas 10k iv (ftp://ftpdownload.maxtor.com/pub/Atlas%2010K%20IV/ and not the atlas-iv. Paul Dear Paul Adams, Please forgive the previous technician. Here is the link to the firmware updates for this particular drive line. Please understand that updating the firmware constitutes a risk. If flashing goes wrong, it may render your hard drive unusable. ftp://ftpdownload.maxtor.com/pub/Quantum%20Products/Disk_Firmware/Atlas-IV/ Thank you, TSJoel61 1-(800)-2-MAXTOR (voice) 353 1 204 1111 (International) http://www.Maxtor.com (web) http://www.MaxStore.com (shop) -- //979//Nan-Suzhou-Road//Space-301//Shanghai//200001//PRC//Office//(86)-21//6360-5418//Fax//(86)-21//6350-7147//mp//130.2329.1471//paul@chaos-studio.com// "Juris Krumins" <juriskr@komin.lv> wrote in message news:003601c37e9c$f31bcff0$0201010a@ntbdc... > I have a new server with Adaptec SCSI chip 7901 with Ultra 320 support. > I'v installed FreeBSD 5.1 on that server, but I have problems with SCSI > system. > If I stay default (Ultra 320 mode with Packetized mode on ) then I have > kernel panic or different erros from ahd driver. > If I change mode (Ultra160 with Packetized mode on ) I also have lots of > errors for example when copy big directory > If I change mode (Ultra160 with Packetized mode off ) I have all working > correctly and no errors. > > So i wonder are there any ways to force SCSI subsysten work correctly in > Ultra 320 mode.
