It's a periodic thing.

Not really. Everyone does what they can when they can. I'm on one of my
periodic rampages through my pile of unanswered mail to tackle some of
them now.
Going through some of these, and responding to some of the ones that are
a bit vague ("I couldn't find out how to configure <foo>") with a patch
that documents whatever the PR is about is a very good way of being invited
to become a committer quite quickly :-)
