In lists.freebsd.stable you write: >What I want to know is why it takes so damn long (30+) seconds to startup >on my PPro-180/64MB? What is it doing all that time (only using 2% cpu >during startup) Probably malloc() :) The native freebsd binary is 10mb! I might say it runs extrodinarily faster than the linux or BSDI versions on my P-II/300, mucho thanks to the Netscape folks for producing this! Also of note in last weeks' PC-WEEK, Netscape was mentioned as saying they will be shipping thin versions of netscape soon (Just the browser like in the good ole days, minus email/news/whateverelse) which should be even faster and smaller.. I cant wait! -Crh Charles Henrich Michigan State University henrich@msu.edu http://pilot.msu.edu/~henrich
