I use both, I don't hate it. The only time I dislike it is when my SSH connection drops whilst the alternate buffer is still in use, as that can get confusing, but most of the time I'm grateful that my scroll back isn't a mess of stuff I've since closed. Please don't spread ill-founded absolutisms; that or you need to be aware of people outside your circle of like-minded individuals. Jess
