My apologies. It was a bit late, and I indicated, as it were, the first edition of the book -- actually, I have both "editions". I should have written: "A Comprehensive Grammar Of The English Language" by Quirk, Greenbaum, Leech, Svartvik, published in 1985 by Longman (~ 1,800 pages).
