The dhcp server is Solaris. Eight minutes does seem silly. If you manage the DHCP server, by all means set the lease times longer. I'm not experiencing this problem, however I don't know what DHCP server is being used by my cable company. Is it possible that a change occurred on the DHCP server you use at or around the time of your last buildworld?
