Hello, I'm having lots of problems with my bge interface. A couple of times per day the interface is being resettet by the kernel for some unknown reason. In syslog it looks like this: Mar 4 10:52:08 p3 kernel: bge0: watchdog timeout -- resetting Mar 4 10:52:08 p3 kernel: bge0: link state chaned to DOWN Mar 4 10:52:10 p3 kernel: bge0: link state changed to UP Mar 4 11:41:08 p3 kernel: bge0: watchdog timeout -- resetting Mar 4 11:41:08 p3 kernel: bge0: link state changed to DOWN Mar 4 11:41:10 p3 kernel: bge0: link state changed to UP Mar 4 11:59:51 p3 kernel: bge0: watchdog timeout -- resetting Mar 4 11:59:51 p3 kernel: bge0: link state changed to DOWN Mar 4 11:59:53 p3 kernel: bge0: link state changed to UP The card works otherwise. pciconf -l -bcv: bge0@pci0:5:0:0: class=0x020000 card=0x11291734 chip=0x169b14e4 rev=0x02 hdr=0x00 vendor = 'Broadcom Corporation' device = 'NetLink BCM5787 Gigabit Ethernet PCIe' class = network subclass = ethernet bar [10] = type Memory, range 64, base 0xddef0000, size 65536, enabled cap 01[48] = powerspec 3 supports D0 D3 current D0 cap 03[50] = VPD cap 09[58] = vendor (length 120) cap 05[e8] = MSI supports 1 message, 64 bit enabled with 1 message cap 10[d0] = PCI-Express 1 endpoint max data 128(128) link x1(x1) dmesg: bge0: <Broadcom NetLink Gigabit Ethernet Controller, ASIC rev. 0x00b002> mem 0xddef0000-0xddefffff irq 18 at device 0.0 on pci5 miibus0: <MII bus> on bge0 brgphy0: <BCM5787 10/100/1000baseTX PHY> PHY 1 on miibus0 bge0: Ethernet address: 00:19:99:7c:69:84 uname: FreeBSD p3 8.1-RELEASE FreeBSD 8.1-RELEASE #0: Mon Jul 19 02:36:49 UTC 2010 root@mason.cse.buffalo.edu:/usr/obj/usr/src/sys/GENERIC amd64 This runs on a rented server. The provider said tey cannot change the network card (they could only change the mainboard, but it would have the very same chip installed). I can't change the provider as well, because the contract runs for twelve months. So - I'd really need some help with this issue. Thanks in advance, TL
