I have just did a fresh install of 12.0-RELEASE, used freebsd-update to get=
 to
12.0-RELEASE-p3 and compiled a kernel with the 3 review patches as referenc=
ed
in comment #5  (Patches applied without error and no error on buildkernel)

# uname -r=20=20=20=20=20=20=20=20=20=20=20=20=20
12.0-RELEASE-p3
# pkg info |grep dhcpcd
dhcpcd-7.1.1                   DHCP/IPv4LL/IPv6RS/DHCPv6 client

The system is running and it acquire both IPv4 and IPv6 addresses; alsoI was
able to set static values for both on pfsense DHCP/DHCPv6 sucessfully.
