I guess I left out a few details here... Sorry..

I am building 4.0 on a different machine and am going to move the HDD's into
the 2.2.8 server.

As long as the master.passwd, group files are good to go, I should have no
problem. Then all I would need to do is move over  /usr/home and I could be
off and running. If I have problems with this setup, I'll send an email to
the list saying so.
