If I understand correctly, we know it, but we afraid about the possibility
of similar situation and threat of ftp-master.FreeBSD.org = RIP :-), about
unnecessary pushing too big load on ftp-master. Somebody wants to be
decent. :-)

Ok, 12 hours is our new rule like 1 hour update rule for CVS. So I'm
changing my rsync update times to every 6 hours for FreeBSD and every
2 hours for CERT subtree. Feel free to say "Hey all, no, setup all your
mirrors in a different way". (Note it could not be so strange because
I update CVS subtrees locally (once a day).)

Is it possible at least to warn us on freebsd-hubs about upcoming
big changes like "4.4-RELEASE with all the packages is ready on the
ftp-master, so it is good time to check status of your mirrors" or
"10 GB of new data are on ftp-master and there are no plans to remove
the older stuff, so it is good time to run for bigger disk"? ;-)
I have 75 GB disk, so is it sufficient for the near future or do I have
to do something to get bigger disk space? It seems that there are no
any afraids about disk space again.

Maybe it is possible to create some script which will scan rsync & cvsup
logs on the ftp-master and determine itself when and which mirrors are
done its work and further maybe it is possible to display this list when
anybody try to do finger @ftp-master.FreeBSD.org :-)

... isn't anybody in Paris right now to welcome FreeBSD 4.4 together? :-)
