Note that mine doesn't "time out all the time", it just a one or two at
startup, and just  very rarely after that.
root@kg-fil# grep timeout /var/log/messages

Jan 10 17:47:21 kg-fil kernel: nve0: device timeout (1)

(the log starts at Jan 7).
