/dev/cuaa0 corresponds to com1.  You're right that coverage of this is
somewhat spotty in the documentation - I just went off in a
self-rightous huff to find the doc so I could point it out to you with
much fanfare when, low and behold, I couldn't find any.  So much for
that, eh? :-)
