I ordered a new $500 Compaq P/166 from PCMicroWarehouse at 10 PM last night,
it may show as soon as today. This makes for my second test machine, the
first one (386/33) is too bloody slow to long term testing on (in particular,
if it involves a full build).
It's first mission will be to test the network install of -stable.
Questions:
1) Jordan, got the URL of a boot floppy to launch me, or aren't any built for
the new release yet?
2) I'm open to suggestions for a cheap Plug'n'Pray PCI Ethernet card that I
can pick up locally (CompUSA/Computer City). (PNP is now supported in stable,
yes?)
3) I'm open to suggestions for a cheap IDE CD-ROM. (Same locations, and I'm
NOT in the market for SCSI CD-ROM for this.)
Once I get the CD-ROM, if we can get an image I'll even test the CD-ROM
install. (A friend has a burner.)
