I've been seeing these for a few days as well.  I just did a quick
search for open PRs and found ports/54417 that says you should have
"options VFS_AIO" in your kernel or load aio.ko to get VMWare to work
properly.

I haven't had time to test this myself, but will be doing so shortly.
