I actually ran into this, too, a couple days ago. In my case, I just attached a
USB serial console to the laptop via a USB hub, attached to it with cu as an
unprivileged user in the dialer group, and then accidentally hit the USB power
off button on the USB hub. At that point is when the kernel panicked with the
same panic message and callstack.
