These are FreeBSD-specific. __dead is 4.4BSD-specific, but hasn't done anything since gcc-1.x. Though I added __dead2 to support gcc-2 in 1994, 4.4BSD didn't have it, and NetBSD 4 years ago doesn't define it or otherwise support the noreturn attribute in <sys/cdefs.h>. Bruce
