https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=3D280999 Bug ID: 280999 Summary: Excessive (R) Requirements Result in Merch Proliferation Product: Documentation Version: Latest Hardware: Any OS: Any Status: New Severity: Affects Only Me Priority: --- Component: Advocacy Assignee: advocacy@FreeBSD.org Reporter: concussious.bugzilla@runbox.com CC: doc@FreeBSD.org Everyone (including comitters and core team members, I've seen their laptop= s in person and asked them) buys FreeBSD stickers from third parties because the foundation requires (R) at all times on the FreeBSD logo. Afaict nobody els= e in our industry does this except us. I have no FreeBSD stickers because I want to buy them from the us instead of letting some random third party profit, and the (R) just looks hideous. This also looks very silly on the newish bootloader. FreeBSD is an extremely established brand. This is the torchbearer of the original operating system distribution. Please, take back the FreeBSD brand by removing this excessive requirement.= I think I can safely speak for the community in this regard that everyone wou= ld prefer to buy them from the Foundation store. Thank you for your considerat= ion. --=20 You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.=
