Re-installing is _never_ an option. :) You need to read the RELNOTES, it has the installation instructions for X11. You find it, and all the relevant files @ ftp://ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/2.2.5-RELEASE/XF86331/. Hope this helps.
