I've _heard_ that APM suspend/resume has been fixed recently in -CURRENT.
I intend to test this myself sometime this week or weekend. In the meantime,
I use:
boot -vD
At the FreeBSD 5.2-RELEASE boot loader to fix this on a per-boot basis.
Works pretty well.
