Take a look at Vitaly Belekhov's work at www.riss-telecom.ru/~vitaly/, as far as traffic shaping, its really state-of-art. It has its own filtering implementation. As far as bridging, I don't know if his work (specifically ng_eiface) is bridging-enabled.
