Sorry folks, I can't follow which messages are private and which are to the list any more, but I found out I got this bit wrong: > On Wed, Jul 15, 1998 at 12:51:35PM +0200, THIERRY.HERBELOT@telspace.alcatel.fr wrote: > > PS : The SYSV extensions must be included in my kernel for XFre86, > > anyway. > > Really? It means "I suppose the SYSV extensions are probably...", not that they have to be included before X can be run. Anyway, the SYSV stuff isn't mentioned in my 2.2.2 GENERIC but for 2.2-STABLE, one of the three (SYSVSHM) has been put in at the end of GENERIC, so KDE only complained to me about missing SYSVMSG (until I gave it what it wanted). Without it, several graphical KDE apps wouldn't run, nor would the main KDE help or any of the help associated with any of the KDE apps, which means missing one of its most reassuring features (after learning to leave them alone for fear of the K Screen of Death). -- Regards, -*Sue*- To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
