I hadn't initially, but I have now:

# mount_msdosfs /dev/da0s1 /mnt/usbdrive
mount_msdosfs: /dev/da0s1: Invalid argument

And dmesg:

mountmsdosfs(): disk too big, sorry

...which seems to suggest the drive is to big for mount_msdosfs
to work.
