--45Z9DzgjV8m4Oswq Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Disposition: inline Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable I was requested to set-up a unix mail server for a company as there current windoze mail server was having major problems and many people were getting intermittent mail so I decided to take a leap and install freebsd instead of using another linux server which I know much better, mainly based off the last 2-3 months of experience I've had with it as a desktop vs. several linux distros I've tried. I have successfuly setup an exim mail server and am using qpopper to provide pop mail service, though they would really like to have imap access. I installed uw-imap as it's what I used on linux. It doesn't have any confg file support and was pretty much plug in way, but on freebsd it doesn't seem to be working, it gives the error message bad username or password. What am I missing, there doesn't seem to be anything to even configure for it to complain about. All the users are normal unix accounts and have full sheel access and they work with qpopper. Also, would it be good to try and install procmail or should I stick with mail.local? Lastly, are there any good how-tos on setting up ldap address book support for outlook? They're looking for any easy way to have a global shared address book. And how would they edit it from windoze? Keep up the good work n FreeBSD! --=20 I sense much NT in you. NT leads to Bluescreen. Bluescreen leads to downtime. Downtime leads to suffering. NT is the path to the darkside. Powerful Unix is.
