Thats correct. You need a working JDK to bootstrap the JDK build.
Try and find someone on the list with a working setup under FreeBSD 5.2
and see if you can find any differences. It looked to me like the
correct kernel modules were loaded so I'm not sure I can be of anymore
help, sorry.
