The WWW page used to have a pointer to the JRE, but a port was never made out of it. It's still on the ftp sites, although I'm not sure if the WWW site still has a pointer to it. In order to be 'legal', the JRE provided must contain all of the sources as distributed, although you might get away from stripping the non-X stuff from the JRE if the program you're running is a GUI version, or stripping the X stuff if it's a non-GUI version.
