I would probably choose to offload it onto a separate box, preferably one
with a large hard disk, so that if my news server is down or otherwise
occupied, I don't miss lots of news.

I don't know what things are like where you are, but here in Milwaukee,
people whine no matter what, and if you give them some excuse, such as a
laggy or spotty newsfeed, they will be on your butt..

PageSat still worries me, although I think it would make a fine backup
system.
