It finally works! Thank you so much!

Along with your patch, I set this in /boot/loader.conf:

hw.psm.synaptics_support=3D1

Along with this in /etc/sysctl.conf (to get two-finger scrolling):

hw.psm.synaptics.two_finger_scroll=3D1

And Synaptics works!

And if you want a dmesg snippet:

psm0: <PS/2 Mouse> irq 12 on atkbdc0
psm0: [GIANT-LOCKED]
psm0: model Synaptics Touchpad, device ID 0
