I didn't mean to propose zfs snapshots as the one true solution. But since they saved me from a couple of late-in-the-night-mistakes in the past, we could have "make installworld / distribution" create a snapshot if the corresponding fs happens to be zfs. This could be enabled or disabled via a variable in make.conf. Best regards Riggs
