I have just install freebsd 5.4 on a laptop, and I have noticed two things 1) even with pccard_enable=NO a inserted card is configured 2) I see no pccardd even after I set pccard_enable=YES and then run /etc/rc.d/pccard start, nothing seems to run is pccardd no longer handling pcmcia configurations? I used to be able to configure non-recognized pcmcia cards by editing /etc/pccard.conf. but now the changes does not take into affect TIA, Tomoki Taniguchihelp
