but memory is almost free these days. Here is being sold at 100US$/16MB,
so dedicating some 4-8MB at boot time to a bunch of high-performance or
memory-hungry peripheral is not that bad. If you can afford 400US$ for
the meteor (and how much for the ATM card), you certainly don't care
about memory savings.
