hi everyone, just wondering if it is possible to run ntalkd standalone, without invoking it through inetd. since i am not running any of the other servers that one would usually run through inetd, i am reluctant to run the inetd just for one little ntalkd daemon. however, when i run /usr/libexec/ntalkd from commandline, it does not start, and the following message is generated in /var/log/messages: talkd[270]: recv: Socket operation on non-socket is it possible to run ntalkd without starting it through inetd, and if so, what do i need to do to accomplish that? thank you all, dfolkins To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
