I've been experimenting with using a Wandboard with a USB wifi stick as a wireless router. The wandboard does have Wifi onboard, but it's currently not supported by FreeBSD. I can say, however, that my experience with the Wandboard has been quite positive. The price point is about the same as Alix, however.
