No -- just carry on using the '.' (HEAD) tag to update your ports tree. The RELEASE_5_2_0 tag is just that: a point in time tag to indicate the state of the ports tree at the time that all of the packages for inclusion with release 5.2 were compiled. It's not a branch, and it's not worth tracking as it won't actually change.
