Actually I think there was some commit to RELENG_3 just a couple of weeks ago. Yes, there is definitely a chance that there will be more updates to RELENG_3 in the future. I would actually be quite surprised if there wasn't at least one commit to RELENG_3 during the next year. Who knows, there might even be a commit or two to RELENG_2_2 yet to come. (Unlikely, but not impossible.)
