About the gus not recording check your mic and also the setting of the mic type on your soundcard -- see your gus pnp manual on where the switch is . We only support up 1MB of memory and dont' the rest of the memory. This is because it will require a signficant rewrite of the gus module and I don't have the time for it. For "isa_dmastart: channel 6 busy" just go to /sys/i386/isa/isa.c and delete that printf . In 3.0-current that printf has been commented out.
