Just one quick question: Why did you put preface.sgml into the main
directory instead of additional directory preface?

Maybe. But the important fact is that the tree is not ready for it:

You should the additional 21 days and import it once the release has been
rolled. You should definitely talk to Jordan (the release engineer) before
the import. Making a big change like this just before the release is
asking for trouble. After all, Murphy was an optimist.
