I don't think that you did the right thing - sed(1) is critical tool,
so that larger testing period is *really* desirable to catch possible
bugs. I also wonder why you did not co-ordinate your actions with
authors of features in question: me, tjr and jmallet. Therefore, I
think that back out is necessary in this case.
