Then the problem is one of configuration and either your CD-ROM is not
being recognized during bootup and you need to look at the dmesg log to see
if it is there or not. Or perhaps, a device has not been made in /dev.

Check on those things first and then see what is necessary to get the CD
included in the kernel...
